RENTAL TERMS & CONDITIONS
- The renter must hold a similar Greek driving licence or a driving licence of an EU Member State with a date of issue of not less than (1) one year. A valid International Driving Permit is required for non-EU countries accompanied by the national driving license. The renter must be 23 years old for a car. Under no circumstances will more than one (1) vehicle be rented with one driver’s license.
- The rental period and the price are agreed before the vehicle is picked up. In case of return of the vehicle before the agreed period, the renter is not entitled to a refund.
- Minimum rental time is 1 day (24 hours). Each additional hour up to 3 hours the renter is charged 1/5 of the daily rate, beyond 3 hours is charged an additional day.
- The pick-up and delivery of the vehicle must take place during office hours or outside office hours with the consent of Venetia Rentals.
- Insurance:
- the rental vehicles are covered with third party insurance (simple insurance). We don’t provide additional coverages.
- In the event of an accident caused by the renter, the insurance covers the property damage caused to the other vehicle, while the property damage to the rented vehicle is compensated by the renter.
- In the event of an accident caused by a third party, the damages are compensated by the party that caused the accident after we have been informed of all the required data.
The Renter:
- Must deliver the vehicle in the same condition and with same tyres and equipment as of the date of this agreement. In case of any tyre damage or failure, the renter must stop the vehicle and inform Venetia Rentals immediately.
- Must follow the Greek Traffic Code and must not use the vehicle for street racing, on rough terrain or sand, or other circumstances that may cause damage to the vehicle or is prohibited by law. The vehicle shall be operated exclusively by the renter, who must not drive the vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or other intoxicating substances.
- Must be aware that the vehicle is intended for use by a maximum of five (5) persons. In the event that the vehicle is used by more than five (5) persons at any time, a fine of €600 will be payable and the rental period will be terminated immediately. The renter may also be reported to the police.
- In case of any accident caused by the renter, or any form of vandalism or component theft, the renter must pay for all damages to the vehicle as well as the daily charge for every day the vehicle is not in a condition to be rented. In case the vehicle is stolen, the renter shall be deemed responsible and provide full indemnification to Venetia Rentals.
- Is responsible for any fine or penalty due to violation of traffic code or removal of the vehicle license plates. In case of removal of the vehicle license plates the renter shall pay the daily charge for every day Venetia Rentals is not able to rent out the vehicle.
- Must keep the vehicle locked at all times. In case the vehicle keys are lost, destroyed or stolen, the renter shall pay for their replacement.
- Must return the vehicle with the amount of fuel specified in the rental agreement. If the amount is smaller, the renter shall charged for refueling the vehicle. There will be no payment made to the renter for any excess fuel above the initial level
- IT IS PROHIBITED TO STOP, PARK AND DRIVE INSIDE THE VILLAGE OF FOLEGANDROS AND ON THE HARBOUR PIER.
- TRANSPORT OF THE VEHICLE OUTSIDE THE ISLAND OF FOLEGANDROS IS PROHIBITED, without prior notice from the renter and a signed written authorization from Venetia Rentals
